In Visual Studio 2017, when I right click on Dependencies in the solution, I see Manage NuGet Packages but where is npm? Shouldn't there be a visual manager for npm like I use with NuGet all the time? Visual Studio has been designed natively for macOS, according to Microsoft, letting developers manage their code hosted by any provider, including GitHub and Visual Studio Team Services.
Environment: Vs 2017 RTM, Windows 10, TFS 2015, over VPN Watchguard Mobile VPN While VS 2015 will connect to TFS almost instantly, VS 2017 hangs forever at 'Connecting.' Checked Firewall, added the IP of the TFS machine to ect hosts, nothing is working Yesterday it did work - somewhat That is, I had trouble connecting, then rebooted, and got connected after a long delay Also, since it cant connect, I cant remove the server from my list of TFS servers in Manage Connections The Remove button never enables. Can supply a DMP file/etc, if it will help. Our team get the same error Environment: Windows 10, VS 2017 Professional 26228.10, TFS 2017 Update 1 1. First of all we disabled anonymous authentication on TFS web site, but still get 'Connecting.' In Team Explorer then after a lot of time an error appears 'TF400324: Team Foundation services are not available from server 192.168.103.236 DefaultCollection. Technical information (for administrator): The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.'
In our case we can connect (with fiddler) to TFS only by IP address. Reset data in Internet Explorer / Delete Domain auth in Credential Manager in Control Panel / run devenv.exe /ResetSettings does not help. If we start Fiddler at first then VS connected successfully sometimes.
It's very strange!!! VS logs (without fiddler started) contains [, PID 14176, TID 9476, 2017/03/31 06:56:15.454] devenv.exe Information: 0: [Info, PID 14176, TID 9476, 2017/03/31 06:56:15.454, 96766 ms, General] TfsCredentialCache.GetCredentials(): name - [Verbose, PID 14176, TID 9476, 2017/03/31 06:56:15.454, 96766 ms, TeamExplorer,TeamNavigator] ViewModelVS.UpdateCurrentTeamProjectInfo state=Connecting.
